Happiness Exercises: The Now

As promised in the previous post, I will publish several patterns and ways of understanding life, everyone should apply daily to find and enjoy inner peace, that will make us feel pure love, which to live is a real delight.


Let's talk about a way to see reality and very common to feel, unfortunately, in modern societies and "advanced". The contents of this post is based on the book "The Power of Now" Eckhart Tolle author of a book that made ​​me completely change my way of understanding life and began to enjoy it once and for all, finding that loving feeling that even the corder and harder people yearn inside.

Stop a minute! withdraw your attention from past and future and focus on what is happening right now, watching the behavior of your mind, your thoughts. See how our minds are continually sailing in the temporal dimension into the past or the future. In the case of the past if interpreted as better than the present, creates melancholy, if instead it sees as worse, gives us a sense of irretrievable loss of time. For the future if you think it will be better, gives us hope, and if you think the future will be worse, gives us anxiety. All these feelings are illusory, not real.

When you focus your attention on what your mind is making you stop identifying with it, you're not stuck in your game, then you're bringing presence into your life and you will notice an unparalleled sense of lightness. Keep in mind at all times at the beginning is not easy, so as a start will be very well become the observer of your mind: your thoughts and emotions.



Our task at the beginning of this journey into the presence, will be to interest us every day what our mind, as it reacts to certain situations or people, we will realize how often it travels to the past or future and emotions or reactions that gives us, we will become the silent observer as not judge or analyze what we are looking for not identifying with it again.

From the above extract that the fact of being fully identified with what gives us our conscious mind, causing reactions and emotions felt, especially when things "go wrong" is magnified and made ​​to suffer or feel sadness when we do with all our being, and enter into a spiral of pain that seems impossible to leave. Therefore, withdraw energy from this material mind and turn it into presence. The moment you feel the full power of now in you, sure you'll never want to be identified with the dimension of time and mind games, it will become a tool to help you every day, instead of torturing and make you lose over time. All this does not mean that the person who knows how to live fully in the present do not use the time clock or the calendar plan, but it is free of psychological time.

This work of Eckhart Tolle think it should be compulsory reading and understanding from an early age, because to my view of life, it contains absolute truths that if you generalize the whole of humanity, this life would be really great and full of love . I personally choose the path of the present... how about you?
